2017 Castleconnell HOR

On Saturday 28th, We host our annual Head of the River event. With 20 clubs, 400+ crews & 600 Rowers heading to Castleconnell, it promises to be our biggest ever Head of The River event yet! We look forward to welcoming everyone on the day.

Castleconnell Boat Club would like to welcome back all existing members after the Summer break. We would also like to extend a very special welcome to all our new members! We look forward to getting to know you all and hope you enjoy rowing with us! Training officially starts back this week and we wish you all a good season on the water!


Irish Rowing Championships 2017

The 2017 Irish Rowing Championships took place from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th July at the National Rowing Centre, Farran Wood, Cork.

It was a bumper weekend of racing due to a record entry of over a thousand crews to take to the waters of the River Lee.

The three day event showcased some of the best racing Ireland has to offer with 1049 crews competing in 264 races. Castleconnell BC were well represented and provided the club followers with exciting races and performances.

CCBC would like to thank the club coaches, rowers, committee and parents for all the hard work during the season and to everyone who helped out at champs. It was a real team effort!

Fermoy Regatta 2017

Always a favorite among our Junior Crews and families, the 2017 Fermoy Regatta did not disappoint. Many Thanks to Fermoy Rowing Club for their warm hospitality. This was the last regatta before champs & was the second last regatta of the Waterways Ireland League, in which our Junior 14 and 15 Quads are competing for top spots. Despite the disappointment of the J14 and J15 Single Sculling events being cancelled, The club still came away with some impressive wins.

Cork Regatta 2017

CCBC rowers displayed good form in the run up to champs at this year’s 2-Day Cork Grand League Regatta. There were some excellent performances over the 2-days by CCBC Rowers.

Well done to our MJ16 Quad and Double on their wins and to James Quinlan on his super win in the MJ18 1X event. Our WJ16 Quad continued their impressive form and also came away with a win. Well done to Lauren O’Brien for making the ‘A’  Final of the WDIV 2 1X and finishing second overall in the WJ16 1X event and to Niamh Kiely for winning the WDIV 2 1X ‘B’ Final and finishing third overall in the WJ16 1X event.


Athlone Regatta 2017

Sunshine and Suncream were the order of the day at this year’s Athlone Regatta. Well done to all CCBC crews who took part. Special shout out the Rory Moore who won his first ever medal in the Junior 14 Sculls. Well done Rory!

Carlow Regatta 2017

Junior crews took to the water again at Carlow Regatta which took place over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June. Always a good day out for the juniors, this year’s regatta did not disappoint. Well done to everyone who rowed the challenging course and to everyone who came away with a medal!

Dublin Metropolitan Regatta 2017

The weather was certainly not kind to us at this year’s Dublin Metro Regatta. The club tent earned it’s money on the day! Despite the poor conditions, we managed to come away with the following wins. Well done to everyone who braved the elements!

Our Junior crews took part in this year’s Lee Regatta which took place on the 20th of May. The crews did us proud and took home lots of wins, near wins. CCBC even had it’s first win in an eight for close on 12 years in the WJ15 8X+ event!
